DALE CURTIS  FOUNDER & CEO

Dale offers clients more than 30 years of experience in Washington, D.C.-focused communications, including senior positions in industry, government, and the news media. He has developed and led the execution of award-winning communications strategies for organizations of all sizes, with deep experience in technology, telecommunications, national security, public safety, environment, energy, education, and global issues. He has written, edited, produced, and/or published hundreds of articles, reports, ads, and other pieces in print, video, and online venues.

Marsha Smith — director of operations

Marsha worked at the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington for more than 10 years prior to joining DCC in 2014. During her time as Associate Executive Director for the YMCA, she was responsible for leading teams in program management, business, human resources, marketing, special events, volunteering, senior services, and facilities and properties. At DCC, Marsha leads administration, accounting, human resources, and operations planning.

PETER MORSCHECK — SENIOR ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR

Peter is a skilled marketing, public affairs, and communications professional. Peter joined DCC in September 2014, and specializes in account management, media relations, and messaging and materials. He previously spent more than five years at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, assisting the public affairs team on a range of Fortune 500 clients spanning the commercial, financial services, and technology sectors. His prior policy advocacy career includes work for the Japanese Embassy and U.S. Senate. He holds a BA in English from Guilford College and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Breyana Franklin — Associate 

Breyana brings a background of journalism, public affairs and media relations to the DCC team. Before joining DCC in 2016, she worked as the media relations coordinator and public affairs manager at the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. Prior to that she gained experience working with Edelman on several high-profile energy clients. Her skills include nonprofit and corporate communications, marketing, editing, copy writing and event production. She holds a BA in Mass Communications from Towson University. 

 

 

EMMA GROSS — INTERN 

Emma has experience primarily in journalism but is thrilled to learn the ins and outs of communications and public relations with the DCC team this summer. She has previously interned for 90.5 WESA, the NPR member station in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has written as a staff writer for The Hoya, one of Georgetown University’s student-run newspapers. Emma is a rising senior at Georgetown University, studying Economics and Journalism.
