DALE CURTIS  FOUNDER & CEO

Dale offers clients more than 25 years of experience in Washington, D.C.-focused communications, including senior positions in industry, government, and the news media. He has developed and led the execution of award-winning communications strategies for organizations of all sizes, with deep experience in technology, telecommunications, public safety, environment, energy, and global issues. He has written, edited, produced, and/or published hundreds of articles, reports, ads, and other pieces in print, video, and online venues.

Marsha Smith — Administrative Assistant

Marsha worked at the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington for more than 10 years prior to joining DCC in April 2014. During her time as Associate Executive Director for the YMCA, she was responsible for leading teams in program management, business, human resources, marketing, special events, volunteering, senior services, and facilities and properties. At DCC, Marsha leads administration, accounting, human resources, and operations planning.

PETER MORSCHECK — SENIOR ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR

Peter is a skilled marketing, public affairs, and communications professional. Peter joined DCC in September 2014, and specializes in account management, media relations, and messaging and materials. He previously spent more than five years at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, assisting the public affairs team on a range of Fortune 500 clients spanning the commercial, financial services, and technology sectors. His prior policy advocacy career includes work for the Japanese Embassy and U.S. Senate. He holds a BA in English from Guilford College and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

RAM UPPULURI — SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Ram has more than 30 years of experience within the U.S. Government, local governments, journalism, and the nonprofit sector. Ram started his career as a reporter for The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville and later worked as an aide to Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN). He subsequently served in the offices of: Sen. Al Gore, Jr. (D-TN), the Joint Institute for Energy and Environment in Knoxville, TN, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy. Over the last 15 years, Ram’s interests turned to local government and youth issues, and he served in a series of policy and advocacy roles in the Nashville and Washington, D.C. city governments. Most recently, Ram worked at FOCUS, where he was an advocate for DC’s charter schools. In 2014, Ram became a Senior Associate at DCC, where he applies his strengths as a policy and communications adviser to clients in several industries. Ram holds a B.A. from Princeton University and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University.

 

DAVID MACAIONE — BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT

David brings years of experience and an extensive professional network in media and entertainment, intellectual property protection and licensing, and consumer products. He started out with Roger Enrico, CEO of Pepsi Cola, writing speeches and shareholder presentations. Later, David launched Country Music Television (CMT) in Europe and went on to build the Odyssey Channel for sale to Crown Media, becoming The Hallmark Channel. David ran several independent film and television companies supplying content to the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC), PAX/Ion, Lifetime, NBC and Showtime Networks, and he has been involved in transactions with Lionsgate, MGM, NBC Universal, Paramount, and Sony Pictures. David is a former member of the Television Executives Section of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS), which awards the Television Emmys as well as the Fred Rogers Foundation Scholarships. He has worked on behalf of musicians and performers’ rights for SESAC as well as The Nashville Songwriters Association.  He acted on behalf of the Film and Creative Industries Division of the Government of Nova Scotia, strategically expanding relationships in Hollywood. He is a published author of articles in the area of IP protection and trans-border satellite broadcasting. David has a B.S. in Marketing from Boston College and a JD/MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Andrew Gagliano — Graduate Fellow

Andrew brings a strong foundation of PR experience to his key support role at DCC. Before joining DCC in June 2015, he worked as the Public Relations and Marketing Communications Manager for VolunteerNow (formerly the Volunteer Center of North Texas), the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Navy, and the district office of U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL). His experience includes military, corporate and nonprofit communications, print and broadcast news, and he's skilled in integrated marketing communications, social media management, copy writing, research, event management, digital media production and more. In the fall of 2015 he entered the School of Communication at American University to pursue a Masters in Strategic Communication.
